Statistics

According to  the North American Association for Environmental Education studies done by Stanford show that environmental projects held at school improve students' academic, leadership, community building, and people skills. Furthermore, Aldates Global Education claims the same and that by starting eco-friendly practices the carbon footprint can be reduced. By teaching and informing students about the environment we can help to reduce pollution in the future and teach students how to manage and work with peers in accomplishing a task.

Additionally plants have also been shown to reduce stress and improve the mental health of students. According to researchers at Weber State University, plants help improve student performance in and out of the classroom. Through our mission of 2026, our girls build la team aims to promote mental health well-being, by raising awareness for gardening and its benefits on mental health.

Intro to Project

At Reseda Charter High School we focused on teaching students how to garden. We utilized wooden square planter boxes filled with soil. We choose succulents to plant as they are drought resistant which is key in a climate such as California. To promote our work and sustainability we shared our planter boxes with different staff at the school.
