Outcome Report
Top Achievements

We were able to promote stem awareness to our local middle school through fun and engaging labs. Through these labs, we were able to broadcast the various opportunities available in stem and encourage them to pursue their passions. We were able to visit around four middle school classes every month of around 10-20 students each of 6th,7th, and 8th graders.

Short-Term Outcomes

Through our labs, we hope to raise the percentage of women in stem and encourage a positive environment in which you can explore your passions. While our impact was more in our local community, we hope that when they come to high school that they have an interest or idea in what field they might want to pursue in the future.

Long-Term Outcomes

We hope in the future to expand our scope to other schools. At other schools we can impact so many more students and introduce them to the world of stem. Long-term we also hope that our students go into great colleges for their career of choice and pursue a career of their choice from the opportunities they were able to explore.

Reflection

Out of all our projects we really enjoyed doing this project the most. Interacting with our local middle school students, presenting different stem topics was an amazing experience for all of us. Sharing our passion for stem to those around us, not only made us all better leaders but allowed us to inspire the younger generations to explore the opportunities in stem and beyond. Overall we would love to do this project again next year and expand our scope to other middle schools, elementary schools, and even high schools.

Final Budget

Overall, we spent 9 dollars on our lava lamp lab on food coloring, antacid tablets, and vegetable oil and we scavenged plastic bottles from our recycling bins. We didn't spend any money on the microbit lab, as the materials were already available in our CS lab at school. We spent around 9 dollars on our engineering lab on wooden dowels, straws, popsicle sticks, and bottle caps. Lastly our math lab was free as we already had a zome tool kit in our CS lab.
